ART WORK
“I have been a great admirer and collector of Kim’s work for the past 5
years, my first piece being an iconic Buddha which has given me great
pleasure. I am drawn to her pieces and feel warmth and joy having Kim’s
work around my house. I do feel the spirituality and depth in each piece and quite often just sit silently looking at the different paintings. I adore the colour ways and depths of shape and movement in each print. Kim has a great gift in understanding her clients and customising pieces to suit personalities and tastes.” ………………………………………………………………………… Diane Wingate
“I have been a huge fan of Kim’s work for several years. I have a collection of her artwork in various sizes and different prints in my home including a very large ‘Infinite Bliss’ that always becomes a discussion subject with our guests.”……………………………………………………………………………….. Sarah Gill
MY BOOK
“This is not only a beautiful book, but one of many dimensions and aspects making it totally unique. Firstly, it is a ‘how to’ book which will be the reason that many budding artists pick the book up – to know how to print using the collagraph method. For this purpose the book is brilliant – with clear step-by-step pictures and insider tips, which make even a novice like me both feel at ease and inspired about the possibilities.
Next, it is a journey; the author openly shares her insights about her own growth along the way – what inspired her and what she has learnt about herself through her journey. Amazingly, it is also a book of magical inspiration that gives a glimpse behind the veil of reality in a way that not many books in this genre manage to do, with tales of Atlantis, Unicorns and Taoist philosophy as well as inspirational quotes along the way which will help you in all aspects of life as well as your printing.
The book is a work of art in itself, the themes are cleverly laid out on the pages to visually take you through your collagraph journey, without ever being over fussy or unclear and crowd you – the section on Byzantium will just take your breath away. ‘Collagraph: a journey through texture’ by Kim Major-George is a visual and multidimensional treat for both the artist and non-artist alike. You may pick this book up to learn about collagraphic printing, but you will gain much, much more.”…………………………………..Dr Manjir Samanta-Laughton
“What a wonderful addition to the artist/printmakers armoury, practical and uncomplicated for the less experienced, yet a wealth of inspiration for those of us who know the ropes – so to speak – but wanting to advance another mile along the road, a feast for the eyes and the soul. Well done Kim. I look forward to the next miracle along your path.”……………………………….Annette Sykes
COLLAGRAPH WORKSHOPS
“What a wonderful way to spend a weekend. Not only expert tuition, but Kim manages to create a truly warm and happy working atmosphere – that allows you to really explore and be adventurous. She moves constantly around the room, allowing everyone a huge amount of individual attention and bespoke learning – as well as the very helpful group demonstrations. I loved every minute, and will be back! It was a weekend that combined purposeful study, the learning of new techniques, along with a lot of fun, light-heartedness, and sharing of ideas. A real joy. Not every talented artist is a great teacher – but Kim manages to combine both effortlessly. Thank you, Kim!” …………………………………………………………………………………. Zoe Duncan
“Kim is amazingly inspirational, generous in sharing her techniques/experience with you and is so caring about the people around her. I absolutely love her workshops (and have done 3-4) – small focused groups of like-minded people, with Kim tending your every need, be it providing inspiration on how to get started, what to do next, tips on how to improve what you’ve done, freely demonstrating her amazing techniques, as well as providing cups of tea/coffee. The opportunity to visit her studio and see her fabulous artwork, and hear about how she achieves such wonderful effects, is a true inspiration alone. I have no hesitation in highly recommending her workshops and can’t wait for her next one (I’m already signed up!). …………………… Dr Elizabeth Rollinson
“I can’t recommend a workshop with Kim more highly. I was completely new to collagraph printing, but now have done four workshops. Kim is an inspiration and will talk you through examples of her work which just makes your jaw drop. She’s on hand to guide you through the process with plenty support and practical advice. Some of the workshops take place in her home which just adds to the whole thing. Such a welcoming place. All you need is an idea of what you want to achieve – a shape or form or something more tangible – and Kim has everything you need including the most amazing range of different wallpapers to make wonderful textured surfaces and all the inks. The press is easy to use and it is so exciting to see the end result. The ‘show and tell’ at the end with your small group is great fun as you all share in what you’ve achieved and start to think about what you want to do next time.”

“I enjoyed the 2 day workshop, what a great atmosphere it was to work in. The course was much more inspiring and exciting then any other I have taken. Your enthusiasm and willingness to supply information was much appreciated , I was really pleased with my plates and have even framed a couple of them. Thank you again for such an enjoyable and informative course.” …………………………………………………………………………………………..Michaela
